Located in north London, the Masonville neighbourhood includes Masonville Place and the residential area southeast and immediately north of the mall.  The area was mostly rural farmland when it was acquired by the City of London in 1961. The mall and surrounding commercial area are the main feature of the neighbourhood, providing lots of shopping and serving as the transit hub for the entire north end of the city.  The surrounding housing was developed in the 1980’s, and is characterized by large single family homes, townhomes, small apartment buildings and student housing.

Carriage Hill Park is the local park in the neighbourhood.  It is located at the end of a quiet court, and has a play structure and walking paths.  St. Kateri Catholic School is located in this neighbourhood and students also attend Stoneybrook Public School and A.B. Lucas and Mother Teresa secondary schools. The Masonville Library Branch is located in the neighbourhood, across the street from Masonville Mall.
