The Smoke Stack District is located just to the east of Old East Village along Dundas Street.  The area is characterized by the many historic industrial buildings, smokestacks and train tracks.  The residential areas of the Smoke Stack District are comprised of beautiful Victorian-era houses and some apartment buildings.  The neighbourhood is also home to many businesses, some of which occupy the historic industrial buildings.  The area is located close to commercial districts on Dundas, both in Old East Village, and the section to the east towards Highbury.

Oakland Avenue Park is located on the southside of the train tracks and has a play structure and swing set.  Residents in this neighbourhood also have close access to the Boyle Community Centre and Park.   Académie de la Tamise is a French-first language public elementary school that is located in the neighbourhood. English speaking students may attend Prince Charles, East Carling, and St. Pius X elementary schools, and John Paul II, Central, H.B. Beal, or Clarke Road secondary schools.
